Near-Optimal Covering Solution for USV Coastal Monitoring using PAES

This paper addresses a multi-objective optimization problem for marine monitoring using USV. The objectives are to cover the maximum area with lowest energy cost while avoiding collisions. is solved an exact and heuristic methods. First, Mixed Integer Programming formulation proposed model USV problem. It consists of combination Covering Salesman Problem (CSP) Travelling Profit (TSPP). Then, we use CPLEX software provide solutions. On other hand, customized chromosome-size algorithm used find solution. latter evolutionary known as Pareto Archived Evolution Strategy (PAES). obtained results showed that solving mission mixed-integer programming (MIP) methods needs extensive computational costs. However, PAES was able Near-optimal solutions large-size graphs in much faster time compared one.
